The Reason Why We Lose The Ability to Read

The reason we lose the ability to read and to think is not because we abuse technology, it is not because we overuse google or any other source of internet information, it is because of the surroundings, which means everything around us.

The internet itself is the victim of this discussion because the reason why it was created was simply to promote efficiency and convenience, just like every single other technology we are using today. The entire history is forged by one single idea, which was to make things easier.

Back then, the roads were full of dirt and mud, it was dangerous, so people put concretes on them, does that make traveling more dangerous? People replaced horse wagons to cars because of their speed and safety, does that give more people trouble getting to the destination? The fire was not a consistent energy, so they created electricity, and does that ever make people weary of its power? No. Same with the internet, does it make people slower? Of course not.

Every single technology that we are using today was built to improve efficiency. We are just simply being overwhelmed by them because the internet itself does not cause such fuss, but everything combined does. We lose focus and ability to read because of this fast paced world, the world that is crowded by fast traveling cars, instant messages and information, wearable and mobile technologies, and plus the old headaches such as work, school, and daily matters. The things we have to deal with in one day are more than any century that is behind us and our mind is constantly shifting from one matter to another, our thought process is going unstoppable from one subject to another. We just simply cannot adapt this fast paced world, because we all have a limit, same with our brains.

The internet or google is just a victim, we blame our inefficiency on them because we can't see the source of problem, we just hear people complaining about google so we follow these complaints brainlessly without looking into the true matter of this issue, which is this advanced, well connected, overwhelmed, fast paced society.
